Sheriff Jim Kralik - one of the founding fathers of the RCWRT and one of the finest men you'll ever meet - a friend second to none and unparalleled public servant and true Patriot!  God Bless! Rest in Peace Sir!
Jim's Artillery Ridge Campgrounds and Riding Stables released this statement that sums up Jim's Dedication to history!

" It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our owner, Sheriff James F. Kralik.
Jim was a family man and a friend to so many. He was the former Sheriff of Rockland County, NY. He started his career as a mounted officer, became Sergeant and then Chief. After thirty years he retired as Chief and ran for Sheriff, a position he would hold for 20 years. Jim was dedicated and instrumental in the training of mounted patrol horses and officers. Jim loved working with and always spoke highly of his law enforcement family.
Jim was a steward of Civil War, Gettysburg and American History. As a youngster, in the eighth grade Jim's discovery of Civil War history began when he came across a series of stories about two cousins, one fighting for the north and one for the south written by Joseph A. Altsheler. Those stories began his love of the Civil War and American History. In 1963, he attended the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. On July 3rd, he would say, as he walked along the battlefield of Cemetery Ridge, he fell in love with Gettysburg. His love for Gettysburg grew through the remainder of his life.

In 1988 Jim became a licensed Battlefield Historian and began sharing his knowledge through Horse Tours on the Gettysburg battlefield. Soon after he purchased Artillery Ridge Campground and The National Riding Stables. About five years later he brought the Gettysburg Diorama, depicting the second and third day of the battle, to Gettysburg from Three Rivers Michigan. Jim and his family added the first day of the battle and the town of Gettysburg to the Diorama. In 2012 Jim purchased the Lincoln Train Museum with the desire to share his love of America and those who formed what he considered to be the greatest nation on Earth. In 2015, The Spirit of Gettysburg was added to the program at the Diorama and History Center in hopes of bringing those whose roles shaped and created the Battle of Gettysburg to life. Jim was delighted to share his love of Gettysburg and American History through his businesses and as a Licensed Battlefield Historian. He had such a sense of why we have in this nation what we have and the desire to share the notion that, in his words, "When we begin to forget one set of veterans we begin to forget them all. By remembering the Civil War veterans, we remember them all".
Jim was a man with a truly kind heart. You couldn't know Jim without knowing that about him.
God speed good friend, and thank you!"
