Preservation

Each year the Rockland Civil War Round Table makes several donations to organizations which advance the preservation of historic Civil War sites. Past donations have been made to the Civil War Trust, Central Virginia Battlefield Trust, Friends of the National Parks at Gettysburg and American Battlefield Protection Program. Funds raised from membership dues and outside gifts make up the money for these donations.

We have adopted the 124th Regiment New York monument and markers at the Gettysburg National Military Park. This is a commitment that requires our group to travel to Gettysburg each year to clean up our monuments and the surrounding area. 

           We secured a $250,000 Grant from
           NY  State to repair and restore 
           every single NY State Monument
           at Gettysburg.
